Covid-19 pandemic has caused the world in the year 2020 to be chaotic. Nevertheless, AIESEC never stops celebrating leadership and for the first time ever, we organised an event where youth can commemorate leadership wherever they are.
AIESEC’s International Congress is one of our annual biggest events that gathers many exemplary leaders in AIESEC. 2020 marks the first year where we assembled more than 12,000 passionate youth from over 120 countries through an innovative online initiative. AIESEC’s International Congress 2020 focused on diversity and inclusion with a hope to shape many future emphatic leaders.
We were honoured to have many global companies as our past partners in AIESEC’s International Congress 2020. Our premium global partners were TATA Consultancy Services, Deutsche Post DHL Group, Nokia, PwC, Mindvalley and Asian Development Bank.
Thinking of connecting with youth?
Let’s converse.
Our premium partner, TATA Consultancy Service delivered an excellent keynote session about “Leveraging Diversity in Adversity”. They also provided a workshop, “Design Your Life” where they shared the principles of design thinking. The workshop was devised to help youth make big decisions in life.
Deutsche Post DHL Group hosted a “Leading with Adaptability” workshop to break down the unconscious bias that happened during the team forming. The workshop emphasized the significance of managing diversity in ensuring inclusivity. With the wisdom passed on by the DHL Group, we are confident our future leaders will be able to shape a more inclusive future.
“Diversity and Inclusion does not happen by itself. It takes effort to create a workplace in which every
employee feels respected and valued.” – DP DHL
Meanwhile, PwC delivered a keynote session on “Skills for the Future”. It was about the need for digital transformation and agility in young people today. PwC also launched its Digital Fitness App during the event. Digital Fitness App had been made available exclusively to AIESEC’s members and our members were thrilled to benefit from it. It first assesses the digital knowledge of the participants and provides necessary contents to fill the knowledge gap.
“Today’s world moves really fast. It’s the world of agility & infinity. The ability to learn in this fast-paced
world gives you an edge today. That’s why we are launching the Digital Fitness App to create a digital mindset
and start a transformation.”
– Dori Gurwitz, PwC
Nokia’s keynote session covered 5G technology and career disruption paths. He also gave personal advice for the dreamers and the doers. We hoped many youth participants get empowered and challenge themselves to achieve more.
“Every disruption that is happening right now, is a huge playground for innovation and opportunities and you
are right now, at the forefront of making those changes happen.” – Brian McCann, Nokia
Not to forget, Mindvalley has helped our participants in creating a clear and certain vision of their life through the “How to Find Clarity and Certainty Within Yourself” workshop. The workshop also enlightened our members in constructing steps to get closer to the vision amid chaos.
Moreover, Asian Development Bank guided the participants to identify youth components under operational approaches to incorporate these elements into their daily operations. The workshop, namely “Youth-led Development Approaches for the New Normal” focused on working with the framework of youth-led development approaches in the new normal.
To conclude, our partners had empowered 12,000+ youth over 120+ countries during an unprecedented time. The world is constantly evolving and we are looking for partners to reach out to more talented youth to conquer more goals. We have succeeded in improving the companies’ employer branding as well as impacting many youth lives through meaningful partnerships.
AIESEC’s International Congress will again embark on its journey in 2021 with more outreach. Bridge the gap between your company and the youth now with AIESEC.
